Animal Rescue

Saturday, January 30th, 2010

I got this email from my niece, Kirsten.  She really likes dogs and with just 2 clicks and no outlay of money you can help save some canine lives.  There’s about 80 visitors to this blog every day.  We can make a difference.

Hi All,
Help Going To The Rescuers win a $10,000 grant!
I am working with a dog rescue organization based out of Perry NY that pulls dogs from high kill shelters and finds homes for them. We would like to open a shelter of our own and could really use the grant money offered in the contest. You can vote once every day through 4/18. I hope I can count on your support.
Vote for us at and we could win $10,000 to help pets in need.
The Animal Rescue Site is hosting a special challenge for eligible member shelter and rescue groups. The grand prize is a $10,000 grant, and they will be awarding many other grants to rescue groups with the most votes — a total of $100,000 in grants for animal welfare organizations.
Think how many animals we could help for $10,000!
Help us win! All you have to do is click to help rescued animals, and then vote in The Animal Rescue Site $100,000 Shelter+ Challenge. Both of these actions are absolutely free! You can vote once a day, every day, from January 18th through April 18th, 2010. Every time you vote, or tell a friend to vote, you are making a huge difference for us.
Vote today!

Episode 10

Dave said something that cost me a 1/2 hr of editing

Though I should be finished with episode 15 at this point I’ve got about 8 minutes of episode 10 recorded.  Stuff happens.  In this case I knocked down work light that had a halogen squiggly shaped bulb encased in a floodlight bulb.  The floodlight outer casing got smashed but, the interior bulb kept lighting.  Finding the offending word recorded over each of 15 or so tracks was a bit of a chore and took me longer than cleaning up the broken glass.

My Basement

Wednesday, January 6th, 2010

A neatness has been committed against the sanctified dust of my basement.  The dust got it’s revenge by spewing forth a cloud of mold spores and other putrid particulates thus reducing the perpetrator of this act into a sneezing fit and forcing him to find fresher air outside it’s hallowed door.  This change will undoubtedly change the character of this venue but, it will make it a lot easier to move around and possibly allow more people to fit.

I’m still working on my New Year’s resolution and I might need to simplify my life. I just added another media outlet to my life and I’m having trouble servicing the one’s I already have. The blog is something I really enjoy and has the benefit of having a way of letting me know how many people visit it each day. I don’t know what pure volume is but, I’m on it now. Hopefully, it’s something I can just set up and ignore. I really regret not putting stuff on Ustream at least once a week and I don’t know if I’ll get another show up on time for next Thursday on the Cable station and I really want to produce a new CD before March.
