Rennaissance Festival

Friday, August 21st, 2009

Yesterday my family dragged me to the renfaire for about the 30th year in a row; hot sun, overpriced food and drink, all these people with their hands out, same old tired jokes, women with their breasts pushed up and mostly exposed(it isn’t all bad).  I really enjoyed it when I first started going.  I also went to one in Florida and in upstate NY.  The one upstate was a lot smaller than the one in Sterling Forrest but, it had the best joust.  These guys were really trying to hurt each other.  One of the champions got kicked in the head by a horse.  He was the bad guy.  I wound up in the cheering section for him.  The cheerleader (dressed like a Beefeater) described the champion as wandering around the countryside forcefully having his way with young damsels.  When I responded, and was followed by others, with a huzzah the cheerleader called us sick.  I don’t see why we couldn’t take our role as the bad guy’s cheering section seriously.

Acer Aspire One

Saturday, August 8th, 2009

I bought a new computer.  An Acer Aspire One.  It does a lot of stuff I need to do.  Everyone warned me that there’s a lot of stuff it won’t do but, I have 2 mac G4 towers and a G5 tower too.  They aren’t very portable.  This computer is 2.44 lbs.  I can’t fit it in my pocket but, I can fit it in the pocket of my guitar case.  I feel like I’ve moved to the dark side.  I’ve never really used anything but a mac.  I had to ask about what the right button is for.  It runs on Windows XP and I have no idea what that means.  I heard something about there being a Windows Vista and I was under the impression that was the most recent version of Windows.  The battery is finished charging so, I’m going to go play with my new toy.

It’s now 2 days later and I’ve been playing with my new toy.  I discovered that I don’t know how to copy and paste in windows.  I’ve relied heavily on having my computer remember my passwords; I can’t get into my email at bobstone@boscoden.com anymore.  I noticed that my email address automatically became a link.  You can still email me.  I can get to my mail on another computer and it gets redirected to another address anyway.  It’s a new machine and it has a learning curve.  I’m hoping I’ll master it faster than my loop station.

Password for mp3s

Bob’s current drummer was the password; it’s not anymore.  I realized that since I’m doing a show on cable TV it’s become common knowledge who my current drummer is.  If you have a compelling reason to download the files for the BoScoDen CD without going to iTunes or Amazon or any of the other outlets for purchasing the downloads, contact me at bobstone@boscoden.com
